令和6年2月2日(金)、熊本高専にて「令和5年度熊本高等専門学校動物実験教育訓練講演会」が実施されました。池田先生、野村先生、本園先生、麦田が参加し、「感染症領域での動物実験～実験動物の愛護に関する基本理念を踏まえて～」と題し、講演を行いました。
講演では、野村先生が以前に勤務されていた国立感染症研究所での動物実験の実例なども交えながら、動物実験の基本となる3R (Replacement、Reduction、Refinement) の考え方についての説明や、卒業生である麦田からも実際の研究について話をし、参加者は興味深く聞いていました。 最後に、学生からの動物実験に関する様々な質問や進路相談もあり、充実した講演会となりました。(麦田)
On Friday, February 2, the ” Animal Experiment Education and Training Lecture for FY Reiwa 5″ was held at Kumamoto National College of Technology. Dr. Ikeda, Dr. Nomura, Dr. Motozono, and a college graduate, Mugita, participated in the event. The doctors gave the lectures entitled “Animal Experiments in the Field of Infectious Diseases ~Based on the Basic Principles of the Welfare of Laboratory Animals~”. In particular, Dr. Nomura spoke about the concept of the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement), which is the basis of animal experiments. Dr. Nomura introduced his experience of animal experiments at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID). The participants were greatly interested in their explanations. Then, Mugita talked about actual research in her laboratory. We had various questions about animal experiments and career counseling from the students at the end. We had a fulfilling time during the lecture. (Mugita)
